Legal vs Ilegal Immigration?

Question by Chupa C: Legal vs Ilegal Immigration?
Okay, I?m illegal because the broken immigration process has me in limbo for 28 yrs. They call the ?legal? way an unworkable and obsolete set of rules from different times and purposes that perhaps in some cases where created with good intentions but when applied together don?t work to the advantage of the country. I?m being deported now. What will happen? Well the business that I partially own will dissolve, 10 people (many US citizens, many with kids and families) will loose their jobs. I also lead the technology dept. on another company. Our field is so competitive that if we blink, the competition will pass us. The interruption caused by my departure more likely will result in the closing of our branch (35 other high skilled US jobs) and the outsourcing of the whole department to India. The US is also loosing on my taxes, etc.
It is not too hard to understand that all kind of services and products are getting more expensive here and that good paying jobs have and will leave by the millions.
Is Ross Perot all over again, while he pointed the attention to the ?giant sucking sound (lol, hard working Mexicans and other immigrants taking a few hundred jobs mostly low skilled or creating their own small businesses)? was in fact a little ?hiss? compared to all the jobs (and cutting edge technology) that was silently being shipped to China and India and other places by the millions, nothing wrong with that, as a business man I understand those pressures and these countries are doing many things right.
Millions of good jobs in manufacturing and services are now gone for good and the US is loosing competitiveness for not being so welcoming to the best hardworking people from all over the world that only want to move here to do the best they can to grow this country?s economy.
The most expensive labor and brain power gets here in the US, the more companies will leave in a heartbeat.
US will loose competitiveness and the few US products left will have a hard time competing in the world markets.
Now do we want to kick out and prevent these hard working peaceful people that for the majority share the same religious, moral, family and other values with the US? Yes let?s do that so the best paid jobs (or the capital to afford them) leave to other nations. Let?s make those nations stronger, those places where culture and political views may be a lot different and more conflictive with the US views where potential conflicts can arise easily while the world?s power is shifted to them. Maybe the world will look at them better, at least they are not building fences to keep their best neighbors out or kicking them out.
Will future history books tell the story of how did the US got to be the strongest nation at some point in time? Wasn?t it because it welcomed the hard working, the brightest and all of those with desire of becoming the best? And then what happened? Why they did away with all those blessings?
Now, do those senators have a clue when they say; ?we do welcome those that immigrate the Right Way?? NO, they don?t. There is no such thing as a ?Right Way? for many of us. Ask me, I have done everything right by the book and I?m about to be expelled from here after close to 30 yrs of red tape in immigration limbo with contradictory laws and obsolete procedures that are unfair (there are many holes and if you are valuable and do things right still may not make it). I really hope that not one of my employees or coworkers about to loose their job is a parent of all of you posting against immigrants. Me, I?ll manage anywhere, I just got to really like this country and many of their citizens, thank god the majority that I know still are some of the greatest most welcoming peoples I have met and are very opposed to what their system is doing to us. Unfortunatelly my kids will have to leave their country.
By the way, I entered legally with a visa. and while I have stayed here I had legal work permits from immigration. this just proofs that there is not such thing as ?Legal? immigration, the sytem rewards some and punishes some because is broken some people cheat the system and get papers the easy way, but if you do it by the book like me, It doesn?t work.
